3-Day Kiteboarding Camp
We recommend the Bell Isle Marina in Hampton if you are learning to kiteboard for the first time. The waves in the ocean and the rip currents can be a tremendous distraction when you are learning. It's much easier to learn in flat, chest-high water.
Three-day kiteboarding camps are ideal for beginner riders who want to accelerate their kiteboarding learning curve. You will learn how to set up your gear, use your safety system, understand the wind and self-rescue. You'll learn the theory behind riding upwind, doing transitions, riding with different types of boards and even learn how to jump. Three-day lessons are tailored to your individual needs, and you will receive professional instruction (your instructor will certify you as a beginner, intermediate or advanced kiteboarder depending on your progression). This camp is ideal for budding kiteboarders or for people who are really interested in learning how to kiteboard in a safe and professional manner. Three days of instruction gives you the opportunity to identify the problems you have to work on, so you can learn how to ride effectively. All our camps and lessons are private lessons, so you will get the individual attention you need. Gear is provided. PASA is a kiteboarding and wind sports association recognized worldwide. If there is a no wind day, instruction will occur on the next day there is wind; otherwise, you can get a refund for the days there is no wind.
It typically takes three days of consistent wind with a certified instructor to learn the water start and basic transitions, so this is an ideal camp for people who are seriously interested in learning how to kitesurf. You get three days of instruction and save around $250 if you were just going to get three days of private instruction.
